I received my Masters of Science in Miami, Florida at Barry University with specialties in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. Since then, I have practiced in outpatient hospital settings working with severe and persistent mental illness, with teens struggling with behavioral disorders in a psychiatric residential treatment facility, at The Anxiety and Stress Management Institute specializing in anxiety disorders, and private practice working with individuals, couples and families. I have also been the appearing psychotherapist on TLC's Hoarding: Buried Alive and Sister Wives.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#1300) and Licensed Professional Counselor (#8873) in Georgia. I have completed Advanced Training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) from Behavioral Tech, LLC. I have also received additional training in Prolonged Exposure (PE), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and trainings for high-conflict families/couples. I am also on the leadership team and the Director of Skills Groups for Metro Atlanta DBT, a cooperative network of DBT clinicians in Metro Atlanta www.dbtga.com In addition, I offer supervision to other clinicians and I am a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS 1469) in the state of Georgia.
